The first step to replace radiator inlet hose on 4.3l engines is to drain the cooling system. The first step involves disconnecting the maf/intake air temperature sensor assembly from the air inlet tube through unclipping the hose clamps before releasing the positive crankcase ventilation hose from the air cleaner duct. The air inlet tube and resonator can be removed through removal of the wing nut and vertical pivoting motion until the hinge clip disengages from the
Throttle Body. Move the radiator inlet hose clamp into position and detach the hose from the radiator before relocating the clamp at the Thermostat Housing for easily removing the hose from there. When installing the new radiator inlet hose it must be connected to the radiator while being clamped into place at the Thermostat Housing. Insert the hose on the support before you align the hinge clip with the Throttle Body lip and then install both air inlet tube and resonator by moving them downward until the mounting stud passes through the air inlet tube hole. The resonator installation requires use of the retaining wing nut while reattaching the pcv hose then adding the maf/iat sensor assembly and air inlet duct with tube clamps tightened to 4 nm (35 inch lbs.). Finally, fill the cooling system.
