Disable the sir system first and keep the front wheels straight while locking the Steering Column before removing either the Steering Column or intermediate shaft to stop alignment issues and shield the sir coil assembly from damage. Lock the Steering Column by using the Steering Column anti-rotation pin (J 42640). When working with the sensor users need to verify that new sensors arrive equipped with pins. If not, reorder the sensor. Extract the Steering Column together with sensor connector for better access.
