Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Motor And Transmission Mount Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the Motor and Transmission Mount on a 4L60-E/4L65-E/4L70-E automatic transmission on Chevrolet Silverado 1500?
A: Vehicle transmission mount replacement for 4l60-e/4l65-e/4l70-e automatic transmissions begins by supporting the vehicle with a lift before using a transmission jack to support the transmission. First detach the mounting bolt or bolts from the transmission support nut then elevate the transmission to relieve pressure from the mount. Take out the transmission mount by first removing the adapter mounting bolts that connect it to the transmission or transfer case. Then elevate the transmission until the mount can be removed. To install the transmission mount position it on the vehicle then tighten the transmission or transfer case adapter mounting bolts to 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.). Set the transmission into position and bolt the transmission mount to its spot on the transmission support where you should tighten the retaining nuts or nuts to 40 nm (30 ft. Lbs.). After completing this process take away the transmission jack while lowering the vehicle down.
