How to replace the exhaust heat shield on Chevrolet Silverado 2500?

Removal of the exhaust Muffler and the spare tire hoist must happen before starting to replace the Exhaust Heat Shield. Vehicles with 6 1/2 ft box require you to remove Exhaust Heat Shield bolts before taking out the Exhaust Heat Shield. Installation of the Exhaust Heat Shield begins by removing its bolts from the 8 ft box. After removing the bolts proceed with removing the shield itself. First install the Exhaust Heat Shield on vehicles with an 8 ft box while observing the fastener notice in service precautions and torque the Exhaust Heat Shield bolts to 9 nm (80 inch lbs.). Install the Exhaust Heat Shield and its bolts onto vehicles with a 6 1/2 ft box by following the duration of 9 nm (80 inch lbs.). The last installation steps involve reinserting the exhaust Muffler followed by the spare tire hoist.
