Chevrolet Silverado 3500 Classic Turn Signal Switch Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the Turn Signal Switch on Chevrolet Silverado 3500 Classic?
A: Start work on the turn signal multifunction switch replacement by turning off SIR system functions. Unfasten the top and bottom trim panels when you record the connector exiting the abrasion sleeve on the steering column wire harness assembly for easy assembly. Unplug the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly from the SIR system coil connector after you detach the wire harness assembly from the wire harness strap. Push both Turn Signal and Multifunction Switch Assembly Connectors from their position inside Bulkhead Connector. Detach the assembly by removing its pan head tapping screws (Pan Head Tapping Screws) and extracting it from the steering column tilt head assembly housing. Put the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly onto the steering column tilt head assembly so its electrical contact touches the turn signal cancel cam assembly. Fasten the screws using 3 Nm force when using domestic column transmission and export floor/column transmission yet 7 Nm force for all other installations. Push the two connectors into the black housing connector and join the turn signal buttons with multifunction controls to the SIR coil piece. Fit the abrasion sleeve back onto the steering column wire harness assembly following the proper alignment of ignition lock cylinder case wires and connector before securing the wire harness assembly inside its strap. Put back the upper and lower trims before activating the SIR system.
