Remove the back up lamp switch by disconnecting the back up lamp switchelectrical connector. While installing the new back up lamp switch, bear in mind that the switch has pre-applied thread sealant to its threads; Tighten the switch to 37 Nm (27 ft. lbs.) and then hook up the back up lamp switch electrical connector before you lower the vehicle.
