Chevrolet Suburban 2500 A/C Condenser Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the A/C Condenser on Chevrolet Suburban 2500?
A: Start by draining of the engine coolant to replace the condenser. Unplug the electrical connector from the air inlet duct, and unplug pcv hose from the air cleaner, and remove the air inlet assembly. Move the upper Radiator Hose clamp away from the Radiator and disconnect the upper Radiator Hose; then the upper Fan Shroud. Move down the lower Radiator Hose clamp and pull down the lower Radiator Hose then, move the lower Fan Shroud to the side that clears for Radiator removal. Take out the Radiator and collect the refrigerant. Next, take out the compressor discharge hose assembly bolt from the condenser and remove the evacuation discharge hose assembly before you take out the evaporator tube nut and remove the center from the condenser. Take out the condenser from the vehicle by taking away the insulator retainer bolts and the upper insulators retainers. For installation, insert the new condenser into the vehicle and insert the upper insulator retainers along with the insulator retainer bolts and tighten them to 2.4 n.m 21 l bin. Replace the sealing washers and attach the evaporator tube to the condenser using the new washer: install the evaporator tube nut and tighten it to 16 n.m (12 lb ft). Connect the hose between the compressor discharge and the condenser with new sealing washers, install compressor discharge hose nut and tighten it to16 n.m (21 lb ft). Refitting the Radiator, lower Radiator Hose and lower Radiator clamp; upper Fan Shroud, upper Radiator Hose and upper Radiator clamp. Mount the air inlet assembly back onto the air cleaner assembly and reconnect the hose that is the pcv hose to the air cleaner and reconnect the wire connector to the air inlet duct. Top up the engine via the coolant, depressurize the system, pressurize the component via the system using the halogen leak detector (J 39400 A), and then perform a fitting of the component using the halogen leak detector instrument (J 39400 - A).
