The process of replacing the filler tube in dual tanks demands the draining of fuel which extends below the Fuel Filler Hose level. Before raising the vehicle disconnect the fuel fill pipe housing from both fuel fill pipe bolts. You must disconnect the fuel fill pipe ground strap as well as the rear axle vent hose from the retainer located on the fuel fill pipe. Unfit the fuel vent hose to fill tube clamp and remove the fuel vent hose from its connection to the fill tube. The technician must loosen and detach the fuel fill hose from the Fuel Tank after clamping it and then remove the assembly while capping the tank opening. Use the fuel fill hose assembly to connect with the Fuel Tank and fasten the fuel fill pipe clamp at 2.5 n.m (22 lb in). Secure the fuel fill vent hose to the fill tube by tightening its clamp to 2.5 n.m (22 lb in). Reinstall the fuel fill pipe ground strap by tightening its bolt to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Also attach the rear axle vent hose to the fuel fill pipe retainer. Lower the vehicle then implement the fuel fill pipe housing by threading it onto fuel fill pipe bolts before tightening them to 2.3 n.m (20 lb in). Complete the fuel system reservoir before adding the fuel filler cap while reattaching the negative terminal of the battery.
