Filler Neck

When changing the filler tube in dual tanks start by disconnecting the rear Fuel Tank and removing its ground wire harness bolt followed by rearranging the ground wire and fill pipe ground strap. Begin by opening the axle vent hose clip at the fill pipe and taking out the vent hose before you can loosen the Fuel Tank fill hose clamp at the front tank. First disconnect the fuel fill hose vent line quick connect fitting from the tank before removing the fill hose from the front tank. Then extract the fuel fill hose/pipe assembly while closing the end of the Fuel Tank with a cap to stop contamination. To begin installation detach the cap from the open front Fuel Tank end before inserting the fuel fill hose/pipe assembly which connects the fill hose to the front tank and the fuel fill hose vent line quick connect fitting to the tank. Before installation complete the Fuel Tank front fill hose clamp with a torque setting of 2.5 n.m (22 lb in) while placing the rear axle vent hose into its retaining clip before closing it. Position the ground wire together with the fill pipe ground strap before attaching the ground wire harness bolt and tightening it to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Finally, replace the rear Fuel Tank.

A single tank system requires cleaning up the fuel connections together with surrounding areas to avoid contamination before removing the fuel fill cap. Initialize the replacement of the Fuel Tank filler housing after extracting the torx(r) screws and retainer that binds the housing framework to the body structure. Proceed with taking out the spare tire stowage lock cylinder together with removing the spare tire when necessary. First unscrew all the hardware which maintains the Fuel Tank filler housing union to the Fuel Tank fill pipe. Properly elevate and sustain the automobile. Open the vent hose clip at the fill pipe while you detach the hose from its connection. The technician should detach the air suspension hose from its point at the fill pipe whenever necessary. First remove the ground wire harness bolt and detach both the ground wire and fill pipe ground strap before continuing. Completely remove the Fuel Tank vent hose quick connection at its Fuel Tank location before releasing the fuel fill pipe clamp and removing the fuel fill pipe bracket screws. The first step is to disconnect both the hoses for the fuel fill pipe from the Fuel Tank before removing the hose and pipe while sealing the Fuel Tank opening to avoid contamination. The installation starts by removing the Fuel Tank cap then pushing the fuel fill pipe hose onto the Fuel Tank while placing bracket bolts on correctly and tightening them to 12 n.m (106 lb in). Connect the vent hose quick connect fitting to the tank after it reaches 2.5 n.m (22 lb in) and the fuel fill pipe hose clamp tension. Position the fill pipe ground strap while attaching the ground wire then install the ground wire harness bolt which should be tightened to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Reconnect the air suspension hose at the fill pipe first and after that attach the vent hose to its clip before securing it. Install the Fuel Tank filler housing to Fuel Tank fill pipe screws along with torx(r) screws and retainer to the body; tighten all screws to 2.3 n.m (20 lb in). Complete the procedure by replacing the fuel fill cap and if needed reinstall the spare tire and the spare tire stowage lock cylinder.
