Chevrolet Tahoe Fuel Pressure Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the fuel pressure sensor on Chevrolet Tahoe?
A: The first step to replacing the Fuel Pressure Sensor involves removal of the front propeller shaft if the vehicle operates with 4 wheel drive (4WD). You must disconnect the chassis wiring harness electrical connector which serves the Fuel Pressure Sensor . A shop towel should be used to soak up fuel leakage while removing the Fuel Pressure Sensor from its fuel line position before discarding the Fuel Pressure Sensor o-ring seal. Start by applying clean engine oil to the new o-ring seal of the Fuel Pressure Sensor before installing it onto the fuel line fitting. Place the shop towel around the sensor fitting of the fuel pressure line to prevent fuel from leaking. Follow these steps to attach the Fuel Pressure Sensor onto the fuel line by tightening it to 15 nm (11 lb ft). Install the Fuel Pressure Sensor by connecting its chassis wiring harness electrical connector and then lower the vehicle. To detect leaks in the system turn the ignition switch on with the engine power off for 2 seconds after which you must turn the ignition switch off for 10 seconds followed again by turning the ignition switch on with the engine power off while checking for fuel leakage. Front propeller shaft installation should be performed only if the vehicle contains 4wd functionality.
