The body side window needs 5 cm (2 in) masking tape applied at its rear edge to the quarter panel margin for stabilization before quarter window motor servicing. The rear interior trim panel needs removal to expose the actuator before disconnecting the electrical connections. Begin by unscrewing the device which joins the window mount to its arm then extract the actuator retaining nuts. After that remove the actuator. Install the actuator by placing it over the mounting studs and tighten retaining nuts to 7 N.m (2 lb in). Secure the screw which links the window mount to the actuator arm by tightening it to 5 N.m (44 lb in). The electrical connection can be reconnected after reinstalling the interior trim panel and finally removing the masking tape from the side window edge.
