The air inlet grille should be removed before starting the strut assembly replacement. Proceed with vehicle stabilizing before you take off the stabilizer link which connects to the front strut. Remove the wheel speed sensor wiring harness from the front strut. During other suspension or steering component servicing maintain a line mark on the Steering Knuckle so you can restore proper alignment with the front strut. Lower the vehicle to gain access to the upper strut mounting bolts before you remove the bolts from the front strut and the nuts from both the front and upper mounting positions. The brake hoses will experience less tension when you use a jack stand under the Steering Knuckle before disconnecting the front strut from the Steering Knuckle for final front strut assembly removal from the vehicle. Install the front strut into its position in the strut tower before tightening the upper strut mounting nuts to 45 nm (33 lb ft) torque values.
