  A: The first step when adjusting the cruise control release switch and stoplamp switch is to remove the left instrument panel insulator. Brake the pedal fully down before pushing the switches into their retainers until they are completely in place. Push the Brake Pedal into its full release until you hear all audible clicks stop sounding. Adjustments result in valid performance when the control release switch contacts and stoplamp switch activate between 3.5 to 12.5 mm (1/8 to 1/2 in) of Brake Pedal movement starting from its center position, with the stoplamp switch switching on at 4.5 mm (3/16 inch) after cruise control release. Reinstall the left instrument panel insulator as the last step.
