Ensure your cleanup of all fuel pipe connections includes cleaning the hose terminals to stop any source of contamination. Begin the work by getting a new Fuel Tank module seal. Begin the replacement process by detaching the Fuel Tank followed by the removal of the fuel pump fuel feed line quick connect fitting along with the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister vent front pipe quick connect fitting present on the Fuel Tank module. First move the fuel lines to an alternative position then disconnect the electrical connectors that come from the Fuel Tank pressure sensor and Fuel Tank module. The Fuel Tank module lock ring installation requires a j 45722 tool which should be fitted without striking tools to hold the Fuel Tank steady while preventing rotation. The lock ring should be rotated counterclockwise to unlock before it can be unbolted. Lift the module with caution to view the fuel level sensor float arm as you tilt its position to avoid object interference while removing it from the tank opening. Drain the fuel from the module reservoir bucket into a proper container before taking out the Fuel Tank module seal. The procedure requires separation of the fuel level sensor. Check for any damage on the lock ring. Replace this component if its warpage reaches or surpasses 0.41 mm which equals 0.016 in.
