GMC Envoy Air Suspension Compressor Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to Properly Install an Air Suspension Compressor on a GMC Envoy?
A: The first step to replace an air spring compressor is removing the air suspension system fuse which stops calibration problems in the air suspension leveling sensor. The rear axle needs support at an angle between d-height and full jounce before completing air suspension system depressurization. First raise and support the vehicle before removing the air spring compressor mounting bolts. First disconnect the air inflator switch electrical connection from the compressor and then disconnect both supply lines and hose before disconnecting the electrical connection along with the supply lines . During reassembly check the air supply line coloring against the air spring compressor color scheme. Use fittings from the new compressor with existing fittings for the air supply lines then connect them to the compressor while tightening each connection to 2.25 nm (20 inch lbs.). The presence of any damage within air supply lines calls for replacement of those lines. Start by connecting the electrical wires for the air spring compressor before installing the air inflator trigger electrical wire and the air line tubing and hose. Connect the air spring compressor to the frame mounting bolts before securing them at 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.). Bring down the vehicle after reinserting the fuse for the air suspension system then start the engine to run for one minute while monitoring the air spring leveling system. The final inspection checks d height as part of leak assessments. Leaks detected at air supply line connections require replacement of the entire air supply lines.
