While replacing the upper intermediate Steering Shaft, the vehicle wheels have to be straight ahead and the
Steering Column has to be lock to avoid the damage of sir coil assembly. Start by installing the Steering Column anti-rotation pin (J 42640) in the lower access hole of the Steering Column. Then take off the intermediate shaft bearing, then the retaining nut and bolt for the upper intermediate shaft to the Steering Column. Remove the upper intermediate shaft from the Steering Column, then disconnect it. For installation, attached the upper intermediate shaft to the Steering Column, attach the retaining nut and bolt (2 to 1) and tighten the nut hence to 64 nm (47 ft. Lbs.). Lastly, install the intermediate shaft bearing; take off Steering Column anti-rotation pin (J 42640) from the Steering Column low access hole.
