The process of installing a new rear side door check starts with pulling the strap toward the door interior when you halfway open the door. Complete the replacement by opening the door. First remove the fasteners holding the side door check to the door pillar before taking the strap out from the door. You should insert the side door check once more through the door opening then attach it to the door's internal pin before pulling the strap into position. Fasteners should be installed to fix the side door check to the door pillar while tightening bolt or nut values to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
