Q: How to replace the fuel pressure sensor on GMC Savana 2500?
A: The first step for Fuel Pressure Sensor replacement involves raising and supporting the vehicle. Unplug the Fuel Pressure Sensor electrical connector that is part of the chassis wiring harness. The wiring harness clip should also be detached from the fuel pipe for access. A shop towel must be used to cover the Fuel Pressure Sensor fitting before the professional removes the sensor from the fuel line and throws out the Fuel Pressure Sensor o-ring seal. To install the new Fuel Pressure Sensor o-ring seal you should apply engine oil then place it on the fuel line fitting. Secure the Fuel Pressure Sensor fitting with another shop towel to protect against fuel leakage during the process. You should install the Fuel Pressure Sensor to the fuel line while tightening it to 15 nm (11 lb ft). You should reinstall the chassis wiring harness clip to the fuel pipe while simultaneously connecting the chassis wiring harness electrical connector to the Fuel Pressure Sensor. After turning the ignition on with engine off you should lower the vehicle to inspect for fuel leaks. This procedure involves keeping the ignition on for two seconds followed by switching off the ignition for ten seconds and another two seconds of ignition on with engine off before checking for any fuel leaks.
