GMC Savana 2500 Throttle Position Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service the Throttle Position Sensor on GMC Savana 2500?
    A:
The servicing of the Throttle Position Sensor begins with disconnecting the negative Battery Cable followed by generator removal. Before removing the tp sensor along with its o-ring seal disconnect its electrical connector and unscrew its attaching screws. The o-ring seal must be placed onto the tp sensor before installation on the Throttle Body when the throttle valve is in the closed position with the tp sensor drive lever properly aligned with the throttle shaft. The tp sensor attaching screws need installation while being tightened to 2 n.m (18 lb in). Follow this procedure by connecting the tp sensor electrical connector then placing the generator back in place and ending by connecting the negative Battery Cable.
