Before cleaning the Throttle Body, you can remove the air cleaner outlet duct. The Throttle Body bore and throttle valve plate should be checked for deposits and the throttle valve should be opened and all surfaces checked. Do not immerse clean or use force solvents on assemblies with throttle position (TP) sensor, idle air control (IAC) valve, or sealed throttle shaft bearings, as this may damage the electric components or seal or o-ring, as well as solvents may degrade non-serviceable bearing grease. Do not use a wire brush or scraper because these can damage components of the Throttle Body, while cleaners containing methyl ethyl ketone can damage things as well. Clean the Throttle Body bore, and valve plate with a clean shop towel using gm top engine cleaner (P/N 1052626) or its equivalence. If deposits are too much disassemble the Throttle Body in order to give it a thorough cleaning, by using a parts cleaning brush but you should never submerge it in some solvent. Reassemble and install the Throttle Body, and then re-attach the air cleaner outlet duct.
