  The tools necessary for balance shaft bearing and bushing replacement are a Bushing and Bearing Remover (J 26941) and a Balance Shaft Service Kit (J 38834). After taking off the balance shaft apply the J 26941 tool to anchor the legs at the rear bearing of the balance shaft. Insert the small threaded end of the J 38834-1 into the balance shaft bore at the engine block front and join it to J 26941. Place the J 38834-2 piece over J 38834-1 and align it with the balance shaft bore of the engine assembly. Locate the J 38834 bearing parts including washer and nut before fixing them on top of the J 38834-1. Turn the J 38834 nut clockwise with a wrench to remove the balance shaft rear bearing from the engine block through the J 38834-1. Discard the old bearing. Fit the new balance shaft rear bearing by attaching J 38834-3 first to the short threaded portion of J 38834-1 before adding the nut, washer, and bearing onto the long threaded end. Position the J 38834-2 front side to the engine block entrance and put it into the balance shaft front bearing bore. Place clean engine oil onto the balance shaft rear bearing then put it onto the J 38834-2 in its right position for mounting. Use a wrench to fasten the J 38834-1 while turning the J 38834 nut until the bearing sits evenly at the bottom of the bore. Put the balance shaft in its final position by fitting the J 38834.
