The process begins with the removal of the air cleaner outlet resonator before working on the evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve replacement. Separate the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge solenoid valve tube from both its connection points at the valve and the purge solenoid electrical connector. Separate the purge solenoid nut from the engine wiring harness bracket from the stud and detach the purge solenoid from its
Intake Manifold position. The installation process starts by positioning the purge solenoid valve onto the Intake Manifold under the instructions of the fastener notice. Lay down the purge solenoid stud then tighten it to 12 n.m (106 lb in), after which install the wiring harness bracket onto the stud and finalize the nut installation with matching torque force. The purge solenoid electrical connector should be connected to the valve while the evap canister purge solenoid valve tube must be connected to the valve and after both pieces are reinstalled the air cleaner outlet resonator should be put back in its place.
