  A: Begin accelerator control cable replacement by removing the air cleaner outlet resonator before detaching the accelerator cable slug from the throttle body pulley then separating the accelerator cable from the accelerator control bracket and engine bracket. The driver side knee bolster must be removed along with the process to unseat the accelerator cable retainer from the accelerator pedal lever. Pressing the accelerator tangs together allows you to pass the cable through the dash opening during removal. To install the new accelerator cable start by passing it through the front of the dash while making sure each of the accelerator cable cover tangs properly snaps into position. Route the cable through the slot on the accelerator pedal lever before placing the accelerator cable retainer correctly to rest inside this lever. Reattach the driver side knee bolster first and then link the accelerator cable between the accelerator control bracket and engine bracket before mounting the accelerator cable slug on the throttle body pulley and finally reinstall the air cleaner outlet resonator.
