The first step to replace the inner Tie Rod starts by removing the steering gear boot followed by checking the inner Tie Rod for corrosion and contamination. If either issue exists the steering gear may need replacement. A pipe wrench should clamp the steering gear rack while a wrench grips the flats of the steering linkage inner Tie Rod housing . Use counterclockwise rotation of the housing as you keep the steering gear rack still to separate the inner Tie Rod from the rack. Evaluation of thread cleanliness and inspection of loctite(R) 262 expiry date should occur before starting the installation process. Put loctite(R) 262 on the steering gear inner Tie Rod threads before inserting the steering linkage inner Tie Rod onto the steering gear rack. Follow the procedure with a pipe wrench and tighten the steering linkage inner Tie Rod housing to 100 n.m (74 lb ft) values. Before installing the vehicle, position the steering gear boot.
