    A: To replace the idler arm, first, gather the necessary tools: Steering Linkage and Tie Rod Puller (J 24319-B). Start by taking off the engine shield (if present) before getting rid of the old idler arm nut. Thoroughly separate the idler arm from the relay rod by first removing the idler arm nut from the idler arm position. You can pull out the idler arm from the relay rod with the puller (J 24319-B) before removing bolts and nuts at the vehicle frame to detach the idler arm from the vehicle. To install the new idler arm position it on the vehicle frame then install its bolts and nuts to the frame while torquing them to 105 N.m (78 lb ft). Install the idler arm onto the relay rod while attaching a new idler arm nut to the idler arm before tightening it to 62 N.m (46 lb ft). Engine shield reinstallation should take place if present while performing a front toe adjustment.
