GMC Yukon A/C Condenser Parts Questions & Experts Answers
A: The first step to handle an air conditioning condenser replacement involves recovering all refrigerant from the system. First remove the radiator support bracket bolts then take out the fascia and the rear bolts of the upper radiator support. The removal process starts by taking out the compressor discharge hose assembly bolt that fastens the condenser while you separate the compressor discharge hose assembly. Separate the evaporator tube nut then disconnect the evaporator tube from the condenser. To remove the condenser from the vehicle you must first eliminate the insulator retainer bolts and the upper insulator retainers. Add refrigerant oil during the application of the new condenser unit. Fasten the condenser by placing upper insulator retainers and installing insulator retainer bolts while tightening them to 2.4 Nm (21 lb in). Place new sealing washers on the evaporator tube before installing its nut to 16 Nm (12 lb ft). Starting with new sealing washers, attach the compressor discharge hose to the condenser before completing hose installation by tightening the nut to 16 Nm (12 lb ft). Put on the supportive lower bolts in the hood latch support bracket and tighten each one to 9 Nm (80 lb in) before you install the radiator support reaching the bolts through the rear of the upper support and securing them by torquing the nut to 16 Nm (12 lb ft). Fasten the bolts holding the radiator support bracket while also installing the fascia. To finalize the procedure the system must be evacuated then recharged before performing leak tests on fittings with the J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector.
