    Q:
How to replace the A/C Condenser on Chevrolet K3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
After collecting refrigerant, remove the condenser. Next, unlatch the grille, hood primary latch support and auxiliary cooling fan if any. Removewire refrigerant hose from the condenser by the proper gas / diesel engine procedure, then remove the evaporator tube from the condenser and cap or plug all the open connections. Unmount the bolts, brackets and upper insulators then pull outboard the left grille support to get clearance when removind the condenser and pull out the condenser and the lower insulators. To install, first install the lower insulators, followed by the condenser (adding oil if it is being replaced). Follow with the installation of the upper insulators, brackets and bolts, tightening to 4.5n.m (40lb in). Connect the evaporator tube and refrigerant hose to the condenser using the proper procedure for either gasoline or diesel engines, and replace the auxiliary cooling fan, if needed, the hood primary latch support, and grille. Finally, recharge the system and look for leaks.

    Q:
How to replace the A/C Condenser in an engine on GMC C2500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Engine coolant drainage comes first before starting the replacement of the condenser. Follow these steps to replace the condenser - first detach the electrical connector from the air inlet duct then remove the pcv hose from the air cleaner and finally remove the air inlet assembly. After disconnecting the upper Radiator Hose and upper Fan Shroud and lower Radiator Hose, move the lower Fan Shroud to the side to make Radiator removal possible. First recover all refrigerant from your system followed by removing the Radiator. First disconnect the compressor discharge hose assembly from the condenser and then separate the discharge hose and evaporator tube. Before you remove the condenser you must first disassemble the insulator retainers and upper insulator retainers and their bolts. The new condenser must be placed in position then upper insulator retainers and insulator retainer bolts should be installed before applying torque to 2.4 n.m (21 lb in). Attach the evaporator tube to the condenser then connect the discharge hose and compressor discharge hose assembly. Install the Radiator before you replace the lower Radiator Hose and upper Fan Shroud and upper Radiator Hose. First install the air inlet assembly followed by connecting the pcv hose to the air cleaner and reattaching the electrical connector to the air inlet duct. Complete engine coolant service then proceed with system refrigerant addition. The j 39400-a must be used to check for leaks at all fittings which were repaired or reinstalled.
