    Q:
How to replace the catalytic converter on the right side for the LY7 - Gas, 6 Cylinder, 3.6L, SFI, V6 on Cadillac SRX? Posted by Customer
    A:
Beginning a right side Catalytic Converter replacement for the ly7 - gas, 6 cylinder, 3.6l, sfi, v6 starts with removal of the right bank exhaust manifold heat shield. Separate the Catalytic Converter nuts and then lift and stabilize the vehicle using jack stands. Remove the front driveshaft before starting work on any awd-equipped vehicle. You need to sever the electrical connections on the oxygen sensors and the muffler tubes from each of the left and right catalytic converters. Use a socket wrench on right bank Catalytic Converter fasteners then remove the exhaust components and seal/heat shield while taking out the Oxygen Sensor from the exhaust manifold. The Oxygen Sensor needs to be detached from the Catalytic Converter. Before attachment install the Oxygen Sensor to the Catalytic Converter while inspecting the Catalytic Converter seal/heat shield for wear or damage to replace as necessary. Position the Catalytic Converter properly on the exhaust manifold and fasten it before installing the Catalytic Converter seal/heat shield to the converter's surface. Connect the Oxygen Sensor's electrical connector before you secure the muffler pipes to both catalytic converters while tightening their nuts to 22 n.m (16 lb ft). When your vehicle has awd functionality you need to reinstall the front driveshaft. Lower the vehicle before tightening both Catalytic Converter nuts to 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Reinstall the right bank exhaust manifold heat shield as the last step.

    Q:
How to replace the right side catalytic converter on Cadillac STS? Posted by Customer
    A:
Starting the right side Catalytic Converter replacement requires removal of the right bank exhaust manifold heat shield. Begin by taking out the nuts from the Catalytic Converter before raising the vehicle for support. The front driveshaft needs removal when your vehicle has awd. You should first disconnect both the left side and right side Catalytic Converter's Oxygen Sensor electrical connector and muffler pipe connections. Start by removing Exhaust Pipe fasteners from the right bank Catalytic Converter and then proceed with carefully removing the combination of the converter and the seal/heat shield and Oxygen Sensor from the exhaust manifold. Take out the Oxygen Sensor that exists within the Catalytic Converter. During installation connect the sensor to the Catalytic Converter and check the seal/heat shield sealing point on the converter for wear and make replacements if needed. Position the Catalytic Converter carefully onto the exhaust manifold while secure fasteners to hold it in place. After that, install the Catalytic Converter seal/heat shield to the converter. Reconnect the Oxygen Sensor wiring while conducting a seal inspection on the Catalytic Converter. Replace the seal if found damaged during the check. Secure the muffler pipes to the left and right side catalytic converters while tightening their nuts to 22 n.m (16 lb ft). Reinstallation of the front driveshaft happens if your vehicle has awd. Lower the vehicle while tightening the Catalytic Converter fasteners to 50 n.m (37 lb ft) torque level. Reinstall the right bank exhaust manifold heat shield as your last step.
