Body Control Module

Set the Ignition Switch to off position before replacing the Body Control Module. Start your work by taking out the trim panel from the right front hinge pillar. First step unplug the bcm from body wiring at its electric connector and i/p wiring harness electrical connector. Take out the fastener that attaches body wiring harness to bcm and then unscrew the 2 bcm mounting screws which connect to the hinge pillar. Use the unlock option to take out the bcm from its position in the hinge pillar. Set the bcm unit in its place and engage the steel tab with the hinge pillar before installing the two fasteners to secure it. Install the last fastener for the body wiring harness connection. Plug the body wiring harness electronical connector to the bcm and the i/p wiring harness electrical connector to the bcm. Reinsert the right front trim panel into place as the last step. Install the bcm with updated software before putting it into the vehicle.

Turn off the Ignition Switch first before you can replace the Body Control Module (BCM). Start your task by taking off the right hinge pillar trim panel that covers this area. Take off the body wiring harness electrical connector from the bcm then detach the i/p wiring harness electrical connector. Free the connector hold-down clamp of the body wiring harness electrical connector from the bcm before detaching its two securing fasteners to the hinge pillar. Open the latch on the bcm to take it off the hinge pillar and move it away from the vehicle. Place the bcm unit into its vehicle position and fasten the integral tab onto the hinge pillar first. Secure the bcm using 2 fasteners then install the fastener connecting the body wiring harness to the bcm. Reconnect the body wiring harness to the bcm by plugging in both connector and connector then put back the right front hinge pillar trim panel. When installing a new bcm system program its settings as needed.
