The clamp on the Rack and Pinion Boot should be removed using side cutters before discarding the old clamp. Caretakers must disconnect the Rack and Pinion Boot from its position on the Rack And Pinion gear assembly. You must attach a new boot clamp to the Rack and Pinion Boot first and distribute grease onto the inner tie rod assembly and Rack And Pinion gear assembly before placing the new Rack and Pinion Boot on the inner tie rod assembly. Regularly check that the Rack and Pinion Boot remains flat without any twisting while also ensuring it does not have puckered edges. Manual adjustment of the Rack and Pinion Boot is needed before putting it into position within the gear assembly groove. Use keystone clamp pliers (J 22610) to tighten the boot clamp through the Rack and Pinion Boot. Put the pliers together to clamp the boot of Rack And Pinion and put the tie rod end clamp on followed by installing hex jam nuts to the inner tie rod assembly.
