How to replace the alternator bracket on L26 and LY7 engines on Buick LaCrosse? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to replace the l26 or ly7 generator bracket requires turning off ignition power before removing the generator. First remove the generator bracket's lower bolt securing the coolant inlet pipe before taking off the belt tensioner. First uninstall the generator bracket bolts before you remove the generator bracket. Start generator bracket installation by repositioning the component then slowly tighten generator bracket bolts according to this specific sequence: first tighten bolts and to 50 n.m (37 lb in) and then tighten bolt to 23 n.m (17 lb in). Start by applying 50 n.m (37 lb in) torque to bolts and before advancing to 23 n.m (17 lb in) torque applied to bolt . Finish the installation by first reinstalling the belt tensioner then the coolant inlet pipe lower bolt from the generator bracket before reattaching the generator.

    Q:
How to replace the alternator bracket on Chevrolet Impala? Posted by Customer
    A:
Replacement of the generator bracket begins with eliminating the generator and idle pulley before suspending the vehicle in the air. First remove the lower tensioner bolt before rotating the tensioner for access to the generator bracket bolt. After that lower the vehicle. The generator bracket bolts need removal for successful separation of the generator bracket from the stud. To install the generator bracket connect it to the stud while using generator bracket bolts tightened to 50 n.m (37 lb ft). You must raise the vehicle once more to install the lower generator bracket bolt while tightening it to 50 n.m (37 lb ft) followed by the lower tensioner bolt at the same torque rating. After lowering the vehicle install the idler pulley followed by the generator.
