    Q:
How to replace the rear brake caliper bracket on Chevrolet Corvette? Posted by Customer
    A:
To remove the rear Brake Caliper Bracket, the first step is to support the brake caliper with heavy mechanic's wire to avoid any damage to the hydraulic flexible brake hose as it is still connected. Uninstall the brake caliper from the mounting bracket tire without removing the hose and remove the brake pads and the Brake Pad retainers from the Brake Caliper Bracket. It is very important to replace the brake caliper mounting bracket bolts with the new ones, as they cannot be re-used. Remove the old bolts and take off the Brake Caliper Bracket and inspect the brake mounting and hardware for any cracks and damage, replace the bracket if that is what you need. Clean up all bolt adhesive from brake caliper mounting bracket and knuckle mating surfaces prior to mounting the new Brake Caliper Bracket to the suspension knuckle. Mount the two new brake caliper mounting bracket bolts and washers provided with adhesive on them, and tighten to 175 nm (125 ft. Lbs.). Apply some high temperature silicone lubricant to caliper pin bolts, instal Brake Pad retainers and brake pads to the Brake Caliper Bracket, and install the brake caliper.
