    Q:
How to replace the rear brake caliper bracket on Chevrolet Equinox? Posted by Customer
    A:
You must set the vehicle on its supports before taking off the tire and wheel to replace the rear Brake Caliper Bracket. Only use hand tools to work on guide pin bolts and apply an open end wrench to hold the caliper guide pin while staying away from the brake caliper to avoid power pulsation from occurring. Keep the brake caliper guide pins fixed in place as you uninstall the guide pin bolts of the brake caliper. Use heavy mechanic wire or an equivalent device to hold up the brake caliper when you detach it from its mounting point to prevent damage to the hydraulic brake hose. Keep the brake caliper in place as you note its wear sensor position to install it correctly. Detach the Brake Caliper Bracket after taking out all outer and inner brake pads, brake pad springs, and Brake Caliper Bracket bolts. After placing the Brake Caliper Bracket back in its original position install the three caliper bracket bolts and tighten them to 125 nm (92 lb ft). Align the brake caliper over the bracket after setting back the Brake Pad springs alongside outer and inner brake pads. Secure the brake caliper guide pins and apply 27 nm (20 lb ft) torque to brake caliper guide pin bolts. Replace the entire tire and wheel part.
