Throttle Cable

Installments for a new throttle cable begin with shield removal from the throttle cable when present while removing the cable connections from the throttle body lever and throttle cable bracket. Start by subtracting the left instrument panel sound insulator before disconnecting the throttle cable from the accelerator pedal. Push the throttle cable through the bulkhead as you squeeze its cover tangs then note the installation path before removing the cable from the vehicle. Follow the noted throttle cable pathway from removal with caution by keeping flexible parts at least 50 mm (2 in) away from all moving components unless they are securely mounted to avoid both interfering with and damaging the system. Rout the bulkhead snap retainer followed by cable connection through the accelerator pedal lever slot until the snap retainer fits properly into place. You should install the throttle cable to throttle body lever and throttle cable bracket before placing back the throttle cable shield if present. To finish the procedure check the full movement of the throttle by operating the pedal and verify that the carpet fulfills its intended position where the throttle mounts before installing the panel cover.

The procedure to replace throttle cable requires initial removal of the left instrument panel sound insulator before disconnecting the throttle cable from its connection to the pedal. Press the throttle cable cover tangs until you can push the cable through the bulkhead after which you should remove the shield if your vehicle has this component. First attach the throttle cable into position between the throttle body lever and throttle cable bracket before final coupling by installing it into retaining clips. Users must reinstall the throttle cable shield (if present), then inspect complete throttle motion ranges while operating the throttle pedal and test for poor carpet installation beneath the pedal. The last step entails installing the left instrument panel sound insulator.

Disconnect the accelerator cable from the throttle body lever and the accelerator cable bracket.

Disconnect the accelerator cable from the throttle body lever and the accelerator cable bracket.

Disconnect the accelerator cable from the accelerator pedal and pull it through the bulkhead, noting the cable routing for installation.

Reinstall the left instrument panel sound insulator.

Connect the accelerator cable through the slot in the accelerator pedal lever and seat the snap retainer in the lever.
