Release Cable, Black

First, you need to remove the grille and the Hood Latch to replace the hood primary Hood Cable. Release the Hood Cable from the Hood Latch assembly, then attach mechanic's wire length at exterior end of the cable, marking for installation later. Release the retainers that keep the cable clamped to inner fender and radiator support, then pull the cable outer grommet through the cowl panel into the vehicle interior. Remove from the bolts that attach the hood release handle to the knee bolster and disconnect the cable from the release handle. Pull the cable through the cowl panel and out from behind sound insulation and then take the mechanic's wire off the cable but keep it in place for installation. In order to install the new cable, connect the mechanic's wire to the outside end. Proceed to use that as the guide of the cable underneath the sound insulation, from the exterior end pass through the cowl panel. Mount the cable to the release handle and seat the cable grommet to the cowl panel. Replace the release handle into the knee bolster and fasten it with tightened bolts to 1 nm (9 lb in). Route the cord as mentioned above, attach the cord to the retainers of the inner fender and plug the cord to the Hood Latch assembly. Finally, install back the Hood Latch and grille.

The cable replacement process starts with grille and Hood Latch removal before freeing the cable from its Hood Latch assembly home. Before installation label where mechanic's wire will pass through then add it to the outside cable end. Push the cable grommet through the cowl panel until it reaches the vehicle interior space after letting go of the retainers which hold the cable to the inner fender and radiator support. After removing the knee bolster hood release handle bolts you should detach the cable from the handle. Remove the mechanic's wire while it remains positioned for future cable installation and pull the cable through the cowl panel and out behind the sound insulation. Pull the cable out of the vehicle's structure. Before installation attach the mechanic's wire to the new cable end and use this guide to feed the cable beneath sound insulation before passing the exterior section through the cowl panel opening. Install the cable to the release handle while positioning the cable grommet to the cowl panel before putting back the release handle onto the knee bolster. Secure the bolts which hold the release handle in place to the knee bolster by tightening them to 1 n.m (9 lb in). Follow cable routing guidelines then secure the cable at inner fender retainers before connecting it to the Hood Latch assembly and reattaching the Hood Latch and finishing with grille installation.

Start by eliminating the grille and Hood Latch before releasing the Hood Cable from the Hood Latch assembly. Install mechanic's wire to the exterior cable end before you record the routing for later hood installation. Liberate the retainers which keep the Hood Cable attached to both inner fender and radiator support before pushing the grommet through the cowl panel to enter the vehicle's inner compartment. Begin by removing the bolts mounting the hood release handle to the knee bolster followed by disconnecting the Hood Cable from the release handle. Draw the Hood Cable from the cowl panel to the outside where the mechanic's wire remains in place for the new cable attachment. Pull out the Hood Cable from your vehicle. The mechanic's wire receives attachment to the new cable's exterior end for use in guiding cable installation beneath sound insulation and through the cowl panel. Secure the Hood Cable at the release handle next install the cable grommet on the cowl panel then reinstall the release handle to its position on the knee bolster while tightening bolts to 1 n.m (9 lb in). Install the Hood Cable by following previous steps then mount it to inner fender retainers before installing it to the Hood Latch assembly and rehanging the Hood Latch followed by grille installation.
