    The first step to replace hood primary cable includes opening the hood followed by left front headlamp removal. Start by disconnecting the Hood Cable from the latch mechanism before removing front fender upper diagonal brace. Succeeding steps call for satisfying 3.1l or 3.8l specific air cleaner extraction protocols. For new cable installation ease you may tie a wire to the end of your old Hood Cable then secure it inside the engine compartment. Pull back the carpet to reach the cable when you remove the Hood Cable retainers from the engine compartment side rail. Start by removing the hood release handle then detaching its cable from the assembly. Next, use a small flat-bladed tool to remove the grommet from the dash panel which allows access to the tied cable. To install the new Hood Cable, first feed the wire or string with the cable installed through the dash panel grommet before applying strip caulk sealer at the grommet. Install the hood release handle while connecting the cable to its position. Start by pulling back the carpet and you should secure the Hood Cable retainers to the engine compartment side rail. Refollow engine guidelines to reinstall the air cleaner after routing the cable through the radiator support. The ending operation involves taking out the blocking piece from the Hood Latch before completing hood closure.
