    Begin your hood primary latch release cable replacement operation by opening the hood before removing the Hood Latch followed by the left hinge pillar trim. It is necessary to disconnect two parts: the cable from the Hood Latch and the cable from the hood release handle. A piece of string should be hung around the Hood Cable for installation into the passenger compartment before removing the hood release cable grommet from the wheel opening and taking out the Hood Cable from the vehicle. Begin Hood Cable installation by moving the string from both ends of the new cable before directing the cables through the passenger area. Remove the string afterward. The installer can put gratnell-duct grommet into position inside the cowl while connecting Hood Cable to its handle. First reinstall the left hinge pillar trim before pulling the string and Hood Cable through the engine compartment but removing the string after installation. Set the Hood Latch in place followed by securing the hood.
