    Q:
How to replace the rear parking brake cable on Buick LeSabre? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to change a rear Parking Brake Cable starts with vehicle elevation and appropriate support machinery. Remove the tire and wheel. The adjuster knob on the equalizer must be set to minimum position to let tension out of the cables before disconnecting both rear parking brake cables from the equalizer. Push down the retaining tabs on the cable housings while extracting the cables from their brackets. The parking brake levers must be disconnected from both cables while you detach the right and left cables from their caliper support brackets by pushing the conduit fitting retaining tabs. After removing the parking brake rear cable bracket bolt on the Control Arm you must take out the rear cable. Install the cables by inserting each of cables (2,5) into bracket (1,3) before connecting them to the equalizer. Secure the right and left cables into caliper support brackets through the snap function while also connecting parking brake cables to their levers. Screw in the cable bracket bolt until it reaches torque of 24 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). The last step involves placing the tire then wheel together and adjusting the Parking Brake Cable.
