    Q:
What Tools Are Required to Service and Repair the Rear Brake Calipers on Cadillac CTS? Posted by Customer
    A:
You need two items to service and fix the cts rear brake caliper: universal driver j 8092 (J 8092) and caliper boot seal installer j 45507 (J 45507). Position clean cloths inside the caliper housing before unmounting the brake caliper unit from the car. Push pistons out of the bores gently using low-pressure compressed air while avoiding possible harm to yourself. Replace all kit components according to their specifications and apply delco supreme 11 gm part 12377967 (or any equivalent DOT-3 brake fluid) to rubber parts. The brake system needs bleeding when components leave it during maintenance. Follow these instructions to inspect brake caliper components safely. Prepare the seal and bores with denatured alcohol before checking for damage in both parts and replacing the system if breaches are found. Mount the brake caliper bleeder valve correctly by tightening it to 14 nm (124 inch lbs.) and then apply lubricant to install the new Piston seal inside the caliper bore. After dressing the Brake Caliper Piston without twisting it apply oil to the bore and Piston before inserting the Piston into the bore. Slip the new Piston dust boot seal onto the Piston and position it perfectly using j 8092 and j 45507. Reseal the caliper on the vehicle's surface.
