    Q:
How to replace the front brake line on Cadillac STS? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before working on the front brake hose you need to lift and stabilize the vehicle before removing its tire and wheel assembly. Remove debris from brake hose connections and disconnect wheel speed sensor wiring clips from their mount on the brake hose bracket. Secure the brake hose area with bolts from the front brake hose bracket by unplugging the brake pipe at both ends. Sever the brake pipe fitting from the brake hose and put a cap on the fitting end. Unclip the brake hose holder while taking it off the Brake Line before using a flat tool to extract the brake hose retainer from the hose. Take both parts of the brake hose assembly off the bracket and caliper by removing it from the bracket as well as disconnecting the bolt at the caliper. Hit the threaded brake hose end onto a towel surface then remove the gasket at the brake caliper or hose attachment using this method. Throw away any stuck copper brake hose gaskets . Position a rubber stopper onto the brake hose opening at its bolt hole within the brake caliper. Secure the brake hose housing bracket onto mounting bolts on the steering knuckle and tighten its bolts to 14 n.m (10 lbft). Install brand new copper brake hose gaskets when putting them on the brake hose bolt hole before connecting them to the caliper. Seamlessly join the brake hose and its two new copper gaskets to the brake hose bolt before fitting it onto the brake caliper bolt and tighten it to 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Put the brake hose into its bracket and confirm that you set the taper so the hose retainer points toward the pipe before fixing the retainer in place. Install the brake hose onto the brake pipe fitting end and tighten it to 18 n.m (13 lb ft) force. Reconnect wheel speed sensor harness holders to the brake hose bracket after installing the brake hose and pipe along with steel washer plus bleed the brake lines then install tire and wheel parts before putting the vehicle down.
