Condenser

Only start condenser replacement work after draining the refrigerant from the system then removing upper filler panel and headlamp along with hood latch bracket. You should start by removing the condenser mounting bolts, then detaching the discharge hose and evaporator hose assembly from the condenser unit. First detach the left and right condenser sides from their retainers before extracting the condenser completely from the vehicle. To install the condenser position the right side into its retainer while adding refrigerant oil only when doing a condenser replacement. After installing the left retainer side the condenser goes into position within the vehicle before securing it with mounting bolts torqued to 13 n.m (10 lb ft). Fasten the evaporator hose assembly to the condenser while checking for sealing washer damage and applying 20 n.m (15 lb ft) of torque. Tighten both discharge and evaporator hoses with 20 n.m (15 lb ft) torque while inspecting their respective washing seals for damage. After installing the hood latch bracket and headlamps professionals should recharge the a/c system and check for leaks from the repaired or reinstalled component using the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A) before placing the upper filler panel back in position.

Attach the evaporator hose assembly to the condenser and tighten it to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

Utilize the Electronic Halogen Leak Detector (J 39400-A).

Take out the left and right sides of the condenser from their retainers and then remove the condenser from the vehicle.
