    Q:
How to replace the A/C Condenser in the HVAC system on Chevrolet Impala? Posted by Customer
    A:
A replacement process starts with recovering refrigerants from hvac systems. The removal begins with taking out both the Radiator and the a/c line coupling from the condenser tube to the evaporator tube. After detaching the a/c compressor line nut from the condenser you must set the a/c compressor line aside before removing the condenser from your vehicle. The technician must eliminate the o-ring seals together with the seal washer. Before installing a new condenser in your vehicle you must add refrigerant oil to it. The installation process requires a replacement seal washer on the a/c compressor hose and fresh o-ring seals for the evaporator tube. After reinstalling the Radiator the mechanic attaches the evaporator tube to the condenser while installing the a/c line coupling to both components. When torquing the a/c line nut attach the a/c compressor hose to the condenser while holding the A/C Condenser block fitting with a 20mm wrench or pliers to prevent hose twisting. Torque the a/c compressor hose block fitting nut to reach 17 n.m (12.5 lb ft). Evacuate and recharge the a/c system before conducting a halogen leak detector (J 39400-A) test on its fittings.
