Start the vehicle front floor console replacement process by using a flat-bladed tool to gently free the front ashtray and then move onto the next steps. Gently lift the wood shifter assembly close-out while rotating it to place the panel over the shift handle before detachment. First use a flat-bladed tool to remove the passenger side toe-panel before disconnecting the instrument panel to console wiring harness connection. The storage compartment's convenience tray becomes accessible through the armrest opening. The console removal starts by disconnecting two fasteners that hold it in place against both the shifter assembly and the vehicle floor. Then you can lift the console above the floor studs to detach it from the vehicle. When installing a new Center Console keep all components from the original console including the compact disc player, amplifier and rear seat audio control harnesses for wiring the new console. Begin installation by linking the console wiring harness to the console before adding the rear seat audio control along with the amplifier and compact disc player. Take care to avoid harm to the instrument panel to console wiring harness during this operation. Place the console over the floor studs after which install two fasteners and apply torque to 10 n.m (88 lb in). Reattach the convenience tray first followed by connecting the instrument panel to console wiring harness then sealing the passenger side toe-panel before placing the wood shifter assembly close-out tightly and finishing with a secure front ashtray installation.

To replace the front floor console for full-length manual transmission, first; remove the shift control lever, Cup Holder, and the screws which fasten the trim plate to the console and take off the trim plate. Open the cover of the storage compartment and take out the storage compartment. The next step is using the nuts that secure the console on the vehicle to get them off, disconnect the electrical connector if you have one, to lift the console off its position. For installation, set the console back into the vehicle and plug the electrical connector if available. Tighten the nuts to fix the console to 10 n.m (88 lb in), and after that, the storage compartment. Reconnect the trim plate to the console and supporting it in with screws, while tightening each of them to 1.9 n.m (17 lb in). Last, replace the Cup Holder insert and the shift control lever.

To replace the front floor console (Non-Full Length), firstly, for manual transmission of vehicles, take out the shift control lever associated to Manual Transmission - NV 1500 or Manual Transmission - NV 3500 according to the proper procedure. Neither will detach it from the floor pull down hard on the console and at the same time pull up on the console to release the retainer clips and get it loose from the floor. When installing, be careful not to bend the clips and reinstall them back onto the ground. Finally, for vehicles with a manual transmission, replace the shift lever using the instructions provided in the Manual Transmission - NV 1500, Manual Transmission - NV 3500.

The front floor console replacement process begins with shifting handle retaining clip removal from the front handle position before unhooking the shift handle from the shift lever. Start by opening the console lid then remove the console compartment inserts before extracting the transmission select switch if present. You should start by taking out the nuts which clamp down the console's rear section and Cup Holder insert. First remove the screws that secure the front console part to the vehicle before taking the console completely out. Position the console into the vehicle slot and fasten it there with 7 n.m (63 lb in) torque on the front mounting screws. Set the Cup Holder insert and nuts at the console's rear in place before tightening them to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Begin by reinstalling the transmission select switch and proceeding to install the console compartment insert along with its screws. Tighten these fasteners to 1.9 n.m (17 lb in). The last step involves attaching the shift handle to the shift lever before securing it with a retaining clip which should sit at the front of the handle.
