Power Steering Cooler

The vehicle restoration process for Power Steering Cooler (V92) replacement begins with removing the radiator upper grille and front air deflector only if needed while placing drain pans below the vehicle chassis. The power steering cooler inlet/outlet hose assembly needs to be detached from the cooler before you remove all bolts that secure the cooler for extraction from the vehicle. Add the new power steering cooler to its proper position before fastening it securely with bolts at 9 N.m torque (80 lb in). You must connect the inlet/outlet hose assembly followed by cleaning all power steering fluid residue then eliminating drain pans from service. After reinstalling both the radiator upper grille and the front air deflector complete power steering system filling and bleeding procedures.

First disconnect the cooler from its power steering inlet and outlet hose assembly then uninstall the bolts before removing the cooler from the vehicle. Position the new power steering cooler into its designated place following fastener caution procedures while tightening bolts to 9 Nm (80 lb in). Take the inlet/outlet hose assembly and clean the power steering fluid while removing drain pans from the vehicle. Reinstall the radiator upper grille together with the front air deflector when possible and complete the power steering fluid filling process followed by bleeding.

Raise and support the vehicle and remove the front air deflector.

Raise and support the vehicle.

Disconnect the power steering gear outlet hose and the power steering cooler outlet hose from the power steering fluid cooler.

Begin by removing the front air deflector and placing drain pans under the vehicle as needed.

Disconnect the power steering gear outlet hose and the power steering cooler outlet hose.
