Begin the installation process by putting the steering column trim covers back on. Q:
How to service and repair the Ignition Lock Cylinder on Cadillac DTS? Posted by Customer
    A:
Disabling the sir system must be the first step before performing maintenance on the Ignition Lock Cylinder. First remove the Ignition Switch along with the Ignition Lock Cylinder followed by the turn signal cancel cam together with the steering shaft upper bearing spring. First remove the steering column shaft assembly and sliding Ignition Lock Cylinder case bracket through the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly. You should separate the park lock cable assembly (from the Ignition Lock Cylinder case) by engaging the steering column lock cylinder set into the off state and shifting the shift lever clevis into park position. A small blade should grip the locking tab on the park lock cable assembly until it disconnects from the assembly. Proceed by removing 3 torx screws securing the Ignition Lock Cylinder case. Once the screws are out separate the Ignition Lock Cylinder case from the steering column tilt head assembly. Install the Ignition Lock Cylinder case by positioning it with the steering column tilt head assembly then tighten the 3 torx screws to 7 nm (62 inch lbs.). Rotate the steering column lock cylinder set to off before positioning the shift lever clevis in park. Pull the locking tab of the park lock cable assembly into position through the Ignition Lock Cylinder case while adjusting the assembly with the gear shift lever and Ignition Switch. Use j 41396 park lock cable pliers to unlock the adjuster ring on the park lock cable assembly before securing it in position. Verify that the park lock latch reaches the gear shift lever. Confirm proper park lock cable assembly function by checking if the gear shift lever stays in park position while the Ignition Lock Cylinder remains in off-lock status. After aligning the Ignition Lock Cylinder case bracket with the steering column tilt head push the components sequence into proper position starting with the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly followed by additional components including the turn signal cancel cam and the Ignition Switch along with steering shaft upper bearing spring and Ignition Lock Cylinder. Then enable the sir system.
