To change the rear compartment lid lock cylinder, one should, first, open up the rear compartment and remove the retainer from the rear compartment lock cylinder. Next, you should disconnect the rear compartment lock cylinder actuator cable from the lock Cylinder and then remove the lock cylinder together with gasket from the rear compartment lid. To install, put the rear compartment lock cylinder and gasket on to the rear compartment lid, and then engage the retainer on the lock cylinder to hold it together. Thereafter find the rear compartment lock cylinder actuator cable, reattach it to the lock cylinder, and close rear compartment at last.

The first step is to open the rear compartment. Take the retainer off of the rear compartment lock cylinder and unplug the actuator cable from the lock cylinder. Afterward, remove the lock cylinder and gasket together from inside the rear compartment lid. To install, insert the lock cylinder with the gasket into the rear compartment lid, snap the retainer onto the lock cylinder and join the actuator cable. Finally, close the rear compartment.

You must start by opening the rear compartment then pulling out the retainer from the rear compartment lock cylinder to take it out. Then remove the rear compartment lock cylinder actuator cable from the lock cylinder and retrieve both components as well as the gasket from the rear compartment lid. Install the new lock cylinder and gasket onto the rear compartment lid before pressing the retainer onto the lock cylinder. Finish installation by joining the actuator cable to the lock cylinder followed by closing the rear compartment lid.

You should open the rear compartment space to start replacing the lock cylinder. Pull the retainer off of the rear compartment lock cylinder before disconnecting the actuator cable from it. You should pull out the lock cylinder system together with its gasket from the rear compartment. Push the retainer onto the lock cylinder before placing the gasket and lock cylinder into the rear compartment lid. Finally, close the rear compartment.

Next, remove the lock cylinder retainer clip and then take the lock out from the handle.

Finally, reinstall the outside handle using the necessary tools.

Use a heat gun (J 25070) to apply heat to the cylinder area, taking care not to damage painted surfaces.

Begin by placing the lock back into the handle.
