    Q:
What tools are required to service and repair the flex plate and replace the engine flywheel on Cadillac DTS? Posted by Customer
    A:
Service and repair operations on the flex plate demand the utilization of angle meter (J45059) and Flywheel holder (J44214). The first step involves transaxle extraction followed by engine block attachment of the Flywheel holder (J44214). Use a wrench to remove all bolts from the Flywheel except for the one positioned at the Crankshaft. Hold the engine Flywheel with one hand while removing its last bolt while keeping the Flywheel from dropping to the floor. The engine Flywheel will first need a clean and inspection before appending gm p/n 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) or equivalent sealant to the Flywheel bolts. Put the engine Flywheel in position over the Crankshaft and start installing the Flywheel bolts by tightening them first to 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.) before performing a final tightening step of 50 degrees by using the angle meter (J45059). End the procedure by removing the Flywheel holder (J44214) from the engine block before reinstalling the transaxle.
