Vehicle maintenance begins with elevation and proper support using caution per the Catalytic Converter movement notice in service precautions. The support of the exhaust system should begin first before removing the Catalytic Converter bolts (N/A) then the Catalytic Converter Gasket (N/A). Begin by disconnecting exhaust hanger insulators from the Muffler assembly containing Exhaust Pipe and Tail Pipe (N/A) before you remove the Muffler with Exhaust Pipe and Tail Pipe (N/A). The first step for installation requires positioning the exhaust Muffler with Exhaust Pipe and Tail Pipe (N/A) before supporting it properly then installing the exhaust hanger insulators on it. Use the Catalytic Converter Gasket (N/A) to install the pieces while tightening the bolts (N/A) to 45 nm (33 ft. Lbs.). Examine your exhaust system by removing support and testing for leaks plus evaluating underbody contact before finally lowering your vehicle.

To service the Muffler, first lift and properly support the vehicle, while being mindful to follow the Catalytic Converter movement notice in service precautions. Then, install the exhaust support and loosen the bolts and gasket of the Catalytic Converter. Remove the exhaust hanger insulators from the exhaust Muffler together with the Exhaust Pipe and Tail Pipe and take out the exhaust system assembly. For installation first position and hold the exhaust Muffler with Exhaust Pipe and Tail Pipe followed by attaching exhaust hanger insulators. Insert the Catalytic Converter gasket and the Catalytic Converter bolts, tighten them to 45 nm (33 ft. Lbs.). Then, dismount the support from the exhaust system, check for leaks and underbody contact and finally lower the car.

Install the exhaust crossover heat shield, securing it with the heat shield nuts tightened to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).

Take off the exhaust crossover heat shield nuts and the heat shield itself.
