Muffler W/Tpipe

The first step for Muffler (LNJ) (3.4L) replacement requires vehicle elevation and support. Begin by removing the Catalytic Converter pipe flange nuts which are connected to the Muffler pipe flange. Assistance will help you remove rubber insulators 5, 6, and 7 from exhaust pipe hangers 1, 2, and 3 of the vehicle. Remove the Muffler assembly which you have extracted from both the Catalytic Converter and the vehicle. Use situational assistance to install the Muffler assembly between the Catalytic Converter and the vehicle. Install the rubber insulators (5, 6, and 7) onto the exhaust pipe hangers (1, 2, and 3). Use a new Catalytic Converter to Muffler gasket which you should install on the studs in accordance with the fastener notice. Snug down the Catalytic Converter pipe flange to Muffler pipe flange nuts to a torques setting of 37 n.m (27 lb ft) after lowering your vehicle from its elevated position.

The procedure begins with removing the battery box because it serves as the first step for exhaust crossover pipe replacement. The first step requires removing the exhaust crossover pipe nuts before removing the exhaust crossover pipe from the engine. You should remove the exhaust manifold studs only when needed. The initial step for installation requires installation of any saved exhaust manifold studs before tightening them to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). The exhaust crossover pipe installation requires space amounting to 6.35 mm (0.25 in) between the Thermostat Housing and crossover pipe. You need to apply torque of 25 n.m (18 lb ft) on the exhaust crossover pipe nuts after their installation. Finally, reinstall the battery box.

There should be approximately 6.35 mm (0.25 in) of space between the thermostat housing and the exhaust crossover pipe.
