Muffler W/Tpipe, Driver Side

Begin by raising your vehicle then support both the Exhaust Pipe and the Muffler whenever possible. A suitable cut-off tool should be used to cut the Exhaust Pipe right next to where it connects to the welded section on the Muffler. Lift the rear Exhaust Hanger out first by removing its securing nut from the rear Exhaust Hanger bracket and its attachment to the vehicle. Put sufficient lubricant on the tail pipe hanger rod to make the hanger easy to remove before pulling the rear Exhaust Hanger off the rod. After joining the Muffler with the Exhaust Pipe keep the Muffler clamp loose during installation. Before fitting the rear Exhaust Hanger, apply soapy solution to the tail pipe hanger rod and the inner diameter of the hanger. Next, slide the hanger onto the rod and position it to fit the rear Exhaust Hanger bracket. Tighten the rear Exhaust Hanger nut to 30 nm (22 ft. Lbs.) during installation onto the rear Exhaust Hanger bracket. Secure the Muffler on the vehicle by making the rear tail pipe opening level and tighten both clamp nuts to a torque of 40 nm (30 ft. Lbs.) before the vehicle descent.

Align the muffler and intermediate pipe assembly for proper clearance and tighten the clamp nuts to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.) before lowering the vehicle.

Remove the nut securing the coil cassette ground wire to the cylinder head.

Remove the nuts from the catalytic converter to the exhaust downpipe, followed by the four bolts securing the exhaust downpipe to the exhaust manifold.

Detach the 2 bolts attaching the left exhaust manifold to the front exhaust manifold pipe, followed by the bolt securing the front exhaust manifold pipe to the crankcase.

Tighten it to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
